Looking for...

Hey, I'm looking for someone in the neighborhood who has a Cricut paper cutter. Or even one of those big "hole punches" that makes a circle, like 1 1/2 inch circles. I could really use it some time this week.

Let's try a trade

I'm not sure how effective this will be but I thought it would be kind of fun to post some things I have that I'd like to get ride and hopefully find someone who can trade with me for things that I would normally have to go buy. I've got some pictures. Here goes.

James and I got a couple of sets of Pyrex glass baking sets. They are still in the boxes, sealed. I've never had room to keep them in my cupboards and frankly don't need them. Plus, I'm too wimpy to carry glass. Hahaha, okay, so maybe that's a bad excuse.

The first is a ten piece set with three bowls, a cake pan and pie dish.

I really love that the bowls have lids.

The second set is just glass bowls with lids. Again, still in the box!

And here's some specs.

I just don't need this stuff! But here's a list of things I'd love to TRADE for or if you are just getting rid of it, I'll take it!

"Pampered chef" stomp chopper. I don't actually need the pampered chef brand but I'd love to have one.

Measuring cups (Just a standard set)

Steamer insert like this kind: http://www.ikea.com/ca/en/catalog/products/90112531

Splatter screen like this kind: http://www.ikea.com/ca/en/catalog/products/10112530

muffin tins (12 count, standard size, nonstick)

Cupcake carrying case

Pound cake carrier (You know, you tip it out onto the circle plate and it comes with a dome so you can carry it to your party or have a place to store the cake after it's made.)

Glass 8x8 square backing dish with lid--This is the item I've really been dying for. I have one already and I always need another. And I especially need it with a lid.

Recipe holder (A little gadget with a clip so I can read the recipe while I cook)

Squeezy measuring cup

I've always thought a neighborhood blog would be a great place to give away nice things we would normally take to the DI. If you have any of this can you email or call or post a comment here on the blog? Apt 862, 8-6091, lydiastrait@gmail.com

Dishwasher for sale

We have a portable dishwasher for sale. I've heard several neighbors say how much they'd love a dishwasher AND more counter space here in Wymount...

It is good shape and works well. We are only selling it because my sister, who recently moved out of Wymount, just didn't need it anymore. $90. Email me, aubreyjunk 'at' gmail 'dot' com.

Ladies' Night

I want to invite the women in our neighborhood to get out after the broadcast and talk about what we heard and felt. We can just walk to the creamery or we can carpool somewhere else that might be a little less busy. The creamery is pretty low on ice cream flavors and the seating might be limited. I'd be happy to be a driver. We'll talk at the broadcast but I wanted to give everyone a heads-up so you can talk to your husbands.

Neighborhood Book Club

We have a continuing neighborhood book club!

It is a chance to read something off the syllabi, off your personal beaten path, and get to connect with women in your nieghborhood on a regular secular basis.

Anyone is welcome and here is how it will go down:

  • Books have already been reserved for the school year. 15 are available for borrowing from Aubrey Pratt.
  • We will meet at one person's house to talk about that month's book. The host will lead the discussion (there is a folder of helps from the library, so you're not on your own here!).
  • The next month we will meet at a new person's house.
  • Books will be loaned out that night, and returned at least by the next month. Returning them earlier would allow someone else to borrow it though :)
  • To be considerate, we will stay no longer than 2 hrs. in the hostess's home.
  • Anyone can come-anyone can bring treats!
  • The only rule is Books Must Be Returned On Time. Late book fines will be paid by borrower.

Posting News

For now, I am the only one set up as an author of this blog. If you would like to post something, you can leave a comment on here and I'll make a new post, email me directly, or ask me to add you as an author (if you want to post frequently). I want everyone to be able to have access to post what you want, so please let me know if there's anything I can do differently. Thanks!
